Rude Mama was born after a daring trip to Binh Ba—an island in central Vietnam—where I fell in love at first bite with a traditional chili that tasted like fireworks in a spoon. When I moved to Canada in 2017 without family, homesickness hit hard and nothing on the shelf tasted right.
Most sauces I found were either blow-torch hot or mouth-puckering vinegary—and they sparked heartburn, not joy. I wanted a hidden gem of Vietnam you could cook with every day: bright, balanced, and kind to your belly.
The recipe took me 2 year to perfect. Crafted locally in small batches with premium Canadian ingredients, Rude Mama delivers real flavor first—then a friendly kick. It’s the spicy sister, the tough-love mama at your table.

Why "Rude Mama"?
I grew up without a supportive family, so I borrowed strength from the “rude” women around me—teachers, bosses, best friends—women called spicy or difficult who quietly turned everything they touched to gold.
That spirit lives in every jar: bold, independent, and unapologetically good.
I'm Rude Mama's matchmaker. My hope is simple: build a table big enough for chosen family—my 'daughters', 'granddaughters', and yours—where flavor is fearless and love is served hot.
